Marriage registration Certificate
Required documents
Tamil Nadu, the following documents are required for marriage registration:
- Four passport-sized photos of the couple
- Proof of marriage, such as a wedding invitation, temple marriage receipts, or other proof of solemnization
- Proof of identity, such as an identity card, ration card, driving license, passport, or visa, for both the bride and groom
- Proof of residence, such as utility bills or rental agreements, for both the bride and groom
Other documents that may be required include:
- Birth certificates or mark sheets of the bride and groom
- Three post-card-sized photos of the wedding ceremony
- An oath letter from both parties if there is a delay of more than 21 days
- A certificate from the priest or institute if the marriage was solemnized by a registered priest or Arya Samaaj
- Details of two witnesses who will be present in person
- A signed application form from both parties
- Affidavits stating the place and date of marriage, marital status, and nationality
