Manufacturer Licence under Legal Metrology Act, 2009
The Legal Metrology Act of 2009 issues a manufacturer license to companies that produce weights and measures. To apply for a license, applicants need to provide the following documents:
Required documents
- A photograph
- Proof of identity
- Proof of address
- Proof of date of birth
- Ownership or tenancy documents for the proposed premises
- Partnership deed if the applicant is a partnership firm
- An affidavit stating that the applicant will follow the legal provisions and directions of the Controller
- An affidavit stating that the applicant has not been punished by any court and no criminal proceedings are pending against them
- A registration document for the shop, establishment, or municipal trade license
- A copy of the GST registration
- A copy of the PAN
Applicants must also certify that they have read the Legal Metrology Act of 2009 and the State Legal Metrology (Enforcement) Rules of 2010, and that they agree to abide by them. They must also agree to pay any scheduled license fees to the government when requested by the Licensing Authority.
