According to the Tamil Nadu Telecom Infrastructure Policy of 2022, applications for establishing overground telecom infrastructure like optical fiber cable lines or telegraph infrastructure must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of ₹1,000 per kilometer or part thereof. The fee is exclusive of taxes and must be transferred to the local body or appropriate authority that controls the immovable property where the infrastructure will be established.
