Concurrence for development of land located in non-planned areas (Wet land)

The District Collector may need to provide concurrence for the development of land in non-planned areas in Tamil Nadu, including wetlands, in certain circumstances: 

  • High tension or extra voltage electric lines: If there are high tension or extra voltage electric lines passing through the land 
  • Forest land: If the land is next to forest land, the Forest Department may need to provide concurrence 
  • Joint Patta: If the land is applied for under Joint Patta, other parties may need to provide proof of concurrence The Director may also request an inspection or reports from officials before granting concurrence. If the Director is satisfied, they will provide concurrence for the proposed development. The local authority will then collect a land use conversion charge and deposit it into the government’s account. They will then issue permission for the development to proceed
