Apply Lift Erection Permission (Form A)
Lift License is a legal permit that has to be obtained from the Government for the operation of lift or escalator in a building in India. The rules and regulations pertaining to a Lift License are governed by the Tamil Nadu Lifts and Escalators Rules, 1997. Before installation or alteration of an elevator in the building, there are a certain set of approvals one needs to seek. Let us look in detail about the Tamil Nadu Lift License in this article.
Required documents
- Application: Fill out Form A online and click Apply
- Supporting documents: Upload the required documents
- Fees: Pay the fees
- Signed form: Print the form, sign it, and upload it
- Lift drawings: Upload lift drawings if desired
- Challan: Generate a challan, pay the amount, and upload a copy of the challan
- You may also need to provide the following documents:
- A copy of the building plan approved by the competent authority and certified by a notary
- A copy of the khata certificate and the latest tax paid receipt
- If you're applying as a company, you'll need a memorandum of association and articles of association
- If you're applying as a partnership firm, you'll need a partnership deed and tax paid details
